Gary’s philosophy is simple: train the dog in front of you, not the textbook dog. Read what’s actually happening, build the right plan, hold the line, and follow through until the owner can hold it too.
We’re balanced trainers. That means we use rewards to build new behaviors and clear, fair corrections to interrupt patterns that don’t work. Both halves matter. Reward-only training builds great relationships but struggles with high-distraction or high-stakes situations. Correction-only training suppresses behavior without teaching the dog what to do instead. Used together, balanced training is the fastest path to a dog that is reliable, calm, and a pleasure to live with.
